About the house

Landhaus

Welcome to the ‘Landhaus Jenischpark’

All the ‘Instenhäuser’ (houses for landless farm labourers) – and also the forge – were once part of a large model estate (ornamented farm) created by Caspar Voght, over 200 years ago, in the beautiful district of Flottbek. In 1828, this model estate passed to the Hamburg merchant and senator Jenisch who, a few years later, then built the famous Jenisch House and created the large park.

The renovation of the historical townhouses on Jürgensallee 102-124 and the house on Baron-Voght-Straße 79 (today the restaurant “Zur Flottbeker Schmiede”) was extremely time-consuming and cost-intensive. Indeed, the entire building period spanned more than 4 years after the property was acquired by the owners Dr Karin and Prof Dr Lutz Fischer, in July 2003. Following a complicated procedure to obtain the building permit, the structural fabric of the old buildings had to be carefully restored and partly reinforced because the ancient structures of the buildings were in a state of serious decay. The owners carried out these restoration works in close cooperation with the Hamburg Monument Protection Office and they were completed in 2007. In 2022, the interiors of the historical townhouses were completely renovated and furnished.

Our carefully furnished and equipped historical townhouses

All the historical townhouses have been carefully furnished and equipped; they consist of a ground floor, a first floor and a private patio with garden and, thus, ensure perfect relaxation and provide maximum comfort (state-of-the-art TV and Wi-Fi). A guest toilet on the ground floor and a dressing room next to the en suite bathroom on the first floor are highly convenient. The new box spring beds present the offer of a good night’s sleep.

The modern fitted kitchens are fully equipped with not just crockery, cutlery, glasses and cooking pots but also all electrical appliances, a dishwasher and a TV display screen.

These historical townhouses are perfectly suited for use as holiday homes, home offices, second homes and as townhouses. You can enjoy a lovely dinner right next door in the bistro ‘Zur Flottbeker Schmiede’ and an extensive range of breakfast choices is available at the “Landhaus Flottbek” hotel.
